About Me

Hello Friends, I’m Dalyce Maldonado👋

A woman with shoulder-length wavy hair smiles warmly at the camera, wearing a black ruffled sleeveless top and high-waisted jeans. She has colorful tattoos on her arms and is standing against a neutral gray background with a window frame and potted plant nearby.

I’m a wife to an amazing husband, a mom to two wonderfully chaotic and funny little kids, and someone who loves Jesus with all my heart. (Fun fact: the name of this blog, Nahomi Allen, comes from my kids’ middle names! ❤️)

I have a naturally silly, humorous personality, and on any given day, you can find me surviving the chaos on iced coffee and good music. My go-to fuel is a large Sweet & Salty from 7 Brew (extra sweet with caramel drizzle, always!), while I tell Alexa to blast Christian Pop throughout the house. I love getting lost in a good book, spending quality time with my family and friends, and playing co-ed softball—especially catching and playing second base. I also have an adorable four-legged sidekick: a corgi named Tator who pretty much runs the house with his random zoomies, barking at random things out the window, and playing with the kids.

By day, I’m a Spark delivery driver, which turns out to be one of my favorite mission fields. Out on the road, my “ministry mode” activates whenever someone needs a kind word or a prayer, powered completely by the Holy Spirit living inside us all.

If you had told me years ago that I’d be running a faith and mental wellness blog, I probably would have laughed. For over ten years, I struggled heavily with anxiety and depression, leaning on medications, medical marijuana, and alcohol just to get through the day. I tried to fix myself more times than I can count, and it never worked.

Everything changed in March of 2025 when I stopped trying to do it on my own and truly handed my life over to God. With His help, and through a lot of prayer and guidance, I was able to walk away from relying on those medications, the alcohol, and the medical marijuana for my peace. That freedom wasn’t my doing—it was all Him. As Proverbs 3:5–6 says, leaning on our own understanding gets us nowhere, but trusting Him changes everything:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” — Proverbs 3:5–6 NLT

“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.” — 2 Corinthians 1:3–4 NLT

Why I’m Here

God placed a strong desire on my heart to write, which led me to start this space. Soon after, I took another leap and enrolled in school to become a Faith-Based Mental Health Coach through Light University (partnered with the AACC). I haven’t graduated yet—I’m still right in the middle of my classes—so consider this blog my open notebook where I share the tools and breakthroughs I’m learning along the way.

A spiritual gift is given by God to His people for accomplishing His purpose on earth, strictly for the glory of God. These gifts are given the moment you accept Jesus Christ as Lord of your life. As Jesus promised in John 14:12 (NLT): “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.” Once I started operating in my spiritual gifts, everything shifted. God showed me that I operate the strongest within discernment and wisdom.

For me, the gift of discernment is the divine strength or ability to spiritually identify falsehood and to distinguish between right and wrong motives and situations—like naturally picking up on body language, sensing hidden emotions, and recognizing when a situation is safe or unsafe. The gift of wisdom is the divine strength or ability to apply the truths of Scripture in a practical way, producing a fruitful outcome and the character of Jesus Christ.

These two gifts work so well hand-in-hand with both my writing and my path toward becoming a faith-based mental health coach. Discernment allows me to cut through the surface clutter, get to the root of what’s truly hurting, and sense what someone needs spiritually and emotionally. Wisdom steps in right behind it, taking the living truth of God’s Word and practical coaching tools to help people untangle their thoughts, find clarity, and walk in genuine freedom.

I’m not here to pretend I have life all figured out. I trip over my own feet, have messy days, and learn lessons the hard way. But God meets us right in the middle of our messes.

Welcome to my corner of the internet! When I’m not driving delivery routes or wrangling my silly kids and corgi, I write about Jesus, mental wellness, and real life. Grab a cold brew, shed the need to be perfect, and let’s untangle the messy days together.
