Scripture Focus: Romans 8:38-39
If you’ve ever had a “friend” ghost you or a loyalty card expire right when you needed it, you know that human love can sometimes feel like a limited-time offer. We spend a lot of time wondering, “Does God really love me? Even after that thing I did? And if He loves me, why is my life currently feeling like a deleted scene from a disaster movie?”
The Unstoppable River
Think of God’s love not as a leaky faucet, but as a massive, roaring river.
- The Obstructionist: We have an enemy who is obsessed with building “dams” to block that flow. He uses bricks like guilt, anxiety, confusion, and sorrow to try and convince you that you’re cut off from the Source.
- The Power Move: Here’s the thing about a well-constructed dam: it can hold back a lot of water, but it’s no match for the impenetrable strength of God’s love. His grace doesn’t just trickle around your problems; it demolishes them.
- No Match: Pain, death, and even demons are basically like throwing a pebble into the Amazon River. They don’t stand a chance against a love that is this perfected and steady.
The Living Proof
When you start to doubt the flow, you don’t need to look at your circumstances; you need to look at the Cross.
- The Receipt: Jesus is the ultimate “proof of purchase.” He took on our sin and died just to make sure nothing—absolutely nothing—could separate us from Him.
- Unchangeable: No matter what harm befalls you or what evil comes against you, the “water level” of His love remains at a permanent 100%.
- The Current: You can trust that the mighty current of His unending love is currently sweeping away every obstruction the enemy tried to establish.
The Study Takeaway: God was a promise maker from the beginning, and He is a promise keeper to the very end. His waters of love devastate anything that tries to slow their flow.
